Athlete of the Week 7/5-7/11
Quentin Platt
Quentin Platt is a 5 9’ baseball player from Liberty North. Q started at pride fitness his freshman year and when he started, he weighed in at 140 and he now weighs in at 165. He has been the model of consistency for our program over the years and it shows in his numbers in the weight room and on the field. When Q started his deadlift was 110 and at his most recent testing before the start of his senior season was 405. His split squat when he first started in 2017 was 40 pounds and now in his most recent test, he is hitting 210. On the field he is a 3-year varsity starter in the middle infielder for a class 6 powerhouse. His senior year he batted .381 led the team with 9 doubles, had 29 RBI’s and 31 runs. He received 1stteam all-conference and all district honors and had the honors of representing his team in the 2021 Missouri senior all-star game. Next year he will be attending Coffeyville Community College to further his academic and baseball career.
Jackson Helberg
Jackson Helberg is an incoming sophomore at Kearney high school who plays football and baseball. Jack has been a huge part of our athletic side of things for the last year and a half. When he first came in Jack, he was very undersized at 130 pounds (in just October of 2019) and now Jack is crushing it weighing in at 175. Jacks hard work is getting noticed by others as well as he received an invite to play for the Royals Scout Team halfway through his time here. His deadlift when he started was 135 pounds and he is now 405 as a FRESHMAN. In football Jack had a great season his freshman year and looks to be a huge piece of their defense this year. In baseball he started in centerfield later moving to his natural position of catcher where he won offensive MVP for Kearney batting .371 with 24 RBI’s and 3 homeruns. This led to him receiving 1st team all-district and all conference. We can’t wait to continue to see the great things Jack is going to accomplish and the example he will continue to set for everyone around him. #littleboy
Will Bologna
Will is 7th grader who will attend Liberty High School in a couple years. He currently plays baseball and basketball. Will has been the model athlete for what we want as he started when he was in just 5th grade. Because of this Will is leaps and bounds above the competition strength wise and performance wise. In just the 7th grade Will’s exit velo is 73.4 as of February and is dead lifting over double his body weight. He is box squatting 145 and he only weighs 105 pounds. In the summer he plays for competitive edge and this season he has absolutely raked all summer long. We love for all our athletes to start at as young of an age as possible and Will is always our example for why that’s the case. He is one our favorite kids and every time in here he shows every one of our athletes what hard work would do for you no matter your stature.
